Sip Story: Violet Daquiri x It Ends With Us
This was my first Colleen Hoover book, and oh man I was not expecting this. I normally put a description for stories, but I think it’s almost better going into this one blind like I did. This book broke my heart and mended it again - the character development is crafted so well that you go on the emotional rollercoaster with them. It explores all the complexities and tragedies and wonderful parts of love.
Sip Story: Dark & Stormy x Neverworld Wake
This was such a quick read, and if you love thrillers then its a great read. I’m not a huge fan of the “day that keeps happening over and over again” trope but this one kept me hooked. I think it was a tad dragged out but overall a good read. Since every day ends with a huge storm, I figured a Dark and Stormy was the perfect pick!
Sip Story: Pick Your Poison x The Lost Apothecary
This book was magic! I love when books go between alternate time lines that lead to the character’s lives intersecting. This story was intertwined in the most beautiful way - it made me want to hop on a plane to London immediately!
Sip Story: Dirty Shirley x Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo
Dirty Shirley ! 🍹🎥 A shirley temple is always a classic - and of course an adult twist on a drink based off an old Hollywood star is perfect for this book! The recipe is so simple and so fun!
Sip Story: Cosmo On The Rocks x Finlay Donovan is Killing It
I was so torn on what drink to make for this book so of course I just made two! ✌️ The first was one that perfectly matched the cover and themes of the book - On The Rocks is a pre-made cocktail co. and their Cosmo is extremely strong and extremely pink. Plus, I thought it was sort of funny since Finlay’s life was *on the rocks*. Then I added a little shot of grenadine and watched it blend with the cosmo like blood - a nod to the multiple murders in the story!
Sip Story: Cinnamon Almond Milk Latte x Good Riddance
Okay don’t get me wrong, this book was definitely adorable, but ultimately it was very hard to get through.I didn’t read any reviews before heading into it, and so I found myself giggling when I went to plug it in as “read” in my GoodReads… most reviews start something like “Good Riddance is how I felt when I finally finished this book”
Sip Story: Long Island Iced Tea x The Cousins
A Long Island Iced Tea with a slightly Dark Twist… I read this book in one sitting! I love Karen McManus, so I was excited to grab a copy of this book. The story centers around three teenage cousins who barely know each other when they all receive the same message from their grandma inviting them to her island resort for the summer - but it’s not that simple.
Sip Story: Starbucks Pike Place x Black Buck
This is one of those books that captures you from the start, and takes you on a total roller coaster. Mateo ’s voice is fresh and original. He writes about topics in a way that opens up our minds and hearts - all through his snarky commentary and satire.
Sip Story: The French 75 x “Invisible Life of Addie Larue”
I am so excited to kick off this project with such an incredible story. As most things I find these days… I found out about “The Invisible Life of Addie Larue” on TikTok. After hearing the 30 second description I was hooked and bought it the same day.
Sip Story: Love Potion No. 21 Recipe
Making and perfecting cocktails is one of my favorite things to do, and this is definitely my signature drink! This delicious raspberry drink is my mom’s absolute favorite - and since her birthday is 2 days before Valentine’s Day, her favorite color is pink, and her favorite flavor is raspberry - clearly there was no better choice for our Valentines concoction.
