🍹Drink: Malibu Sea Breeze 🌊

I chose this drink because the Sea Breeze was the cocktail that Nina kept mentioning her mom would drink every day, and ultimately it turned into Nina’s poison of choice as well. However I put a little spin on it and topped the drink with a Raspberry White Claw to add a little bit of sparkle - and of course some waves! 

    • Fill a cocktail shaker with ice

    • Add 1.5 oz vodka, 3 oz cranberry juice, and 2 oz fresh squeezed grapefruit juice

    • Shake well and pour over ice

    • Top with Raspberry White Claw

    • Garnish with a grapefruit slice!


🌟 Review: This book completely broke my heart and then slowly repaired it again.

Nina Riva may just be my favorite fictional character of all time. I saw so many mixed reviews of this book but I can not be. convinced that anything TJR writes will always be an immediate 5 stars from me. 

Nina takes care of her siblings in a way that I completely understand. Although, my siblings and I are very lucky to have my mom who was there to fight for us and support us when our dad left. 

But being a big sister means sacrifice. Sacrificing parts of yourself that you miss every day to take care of the people you love most. I left college to help take care of my siblings, I sign the permission slips, take them to and from school every day, and most of all make sure that I’m there to fill the hole of that second parent figure. 

This book hits the nail on the head, it makes you lose yourself in the story - even though it technically only plays out over 24 hours (which is also how quickly you finish this book once you pick it up).
