Sip Story: Long Island Iced Tea x The Cousins

✨The Cousins by Karen McManus✨

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💫/⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

🥤Drink: A Long Island Iced Tea with a slightly Dark Twist…

I read this book in one sitting! I love Karen McManus, so I was excited to grab a copy of this book.

The story centers around three teenage cousins who barely know each other when they all receive the same message from their grandma inviting them to her island resort for the summer - but it’s not that simple.

Milly, Jonah, and Aubrey have never actually met their grandmother before. She disinherited all of their parents before they were even born. Forced to go visit the island they become determined to solve the mystery of what pushed their grandma to this point.

I chose the Long Island Iced Tea for this book because it’s a typical summer drink that I could totally see being a staple on the island.

The funniest part about a Long Island Iced Tea to me is the fact that there’s actually no tea in it - aka it’s not what it seems. 👀

🍒I put a little twist on it and used a cherry coke instead of regular to give it a little bit of a fruity flavor (I also skipped the gin because - I’m allergic)

Recipe:

- Fill a shaker with ice and combine 1 oz vodka, 1 oz white rum, 1 oz white tequila, 1/2 oz triple sec, 2 oz fresh lemon juice
- Shake!!
- Pour into glasses (including the ice) and top with Cherry Coke!
- Squeeze a lemon wedge and throw it in for garnish
